Imagine being able to just say what's on your mind instead of having to type it and make sure that you have all the right keywords in each paragraph. I think that would be cool. But its almost impossible to succeed in promoting your self & your brand without a blog. I'm certainly not questioning the value and importance of written blogs but social media like radio blogs & internet radio are turning it up a notch in my opinion.
Growing up I always wanted to be a radio personality. I used to think how cool it would be to give everyone my take on what's happening in the world then play just the right song to make them groove right along with me. Internet Radio gives you all the benefits of what your blog would do for you with a lot more flexibility. For one its much easier to talk to people about a subject than write about it.
Before you put your thoughts on paper (or in the text box) don't you spend time thinking & revising what you want to say? Some times you say it to your self and some times you say it out loud but you still say it anyway. An audio blog will allow you to say it all without the need to edit & reposition paragraph layout. Say it the way you feel it and convey the idea clearly. Talk about authentic communication.
Plus when you lose your train of thought you can always play an audio clip to make sure your audience has something good to focus on. :-)
The radio blog will allow you to project a professional presence and add instant value to everyone you introduce yourself to. See which one of these sounds (reads) better. I host an internet radio show and share all types of useful tools & resources with people who join my loyal listener club. Or... I host a blog about (you fill in the blank) and if you subscribe I'll send you a free E-book. :-/ That was fun.
For those who struggle to find good content to write about, an audio blog can be a very productive platform. Every good article or e-book writer knows that a good conversation or interview can be transcribed and turned into a new funded proposal. Get enough of those & you have an e-course or some other marketable product.
I have big fun with my show called The High Road. Its free, its the ultimte in social networking, and like everything else in the web 2.0 world I can see how it'll help me accomplish the goals I've set for myself. Plus I share all types of useful tools & resources with people who join my loyal listener club. :-) Gotta Run. I'm getting ready to watch a presentation by this 14 year old kid who makes more on the internet in a year than me, my dad and my uncle put together. Whatchudoin?
